In Ternopil, the number of dead has increased to 34, among those considered missing is a child

As of November 23, in Ternopil, the number of dead as a result of a missile strike on residential buildings on November 19 has increased to 34, five more people are considered missing.

This was reported by the deputy head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration, Taras Pastukh.

“As of now, we can say that 34 people have died. Among them, 33 have already been identified. Work is still underway to identify one person. In addition, five more people are currently considered missing,” Pastukh said.

He added that these are two men, three women and a small child.

“There are body fragments that belong to a male person. Experts are currently working on the question of which of these two deceased they belong to. Although we cannot rule out that it could be another person,” said the deputy head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration.

According to Pastukh, not only those people who lived in this multi-storey building died at Stusa Street, 8.

“And also those who walked past it to the bomb shelter. We have four people who died at this address, but did not live in this building,” said Taras Pastukh.

The deputy head of the Ternopil Regional Military Administration also reported that the building is not subject to restoration, it will be completely dismantled.

As for another multi-storey building, on April 15 Street, experts are currently establishing all the circumstances, because the missile did not hit the building directly.

“19 people died in this building. They did not die because the building’s structures collapsed. They actually burned alive in this building. “Explosives technicians are now trying to establish whether it was a separate munition or how it happened. Because, as far as we can tell, as a result of this missile hitting the yard, windows were broken, after which, most likely, there was a spray. Is it rocket fuel or something else? It hit two entrances directly. And people were burned alive,” Pastukh said.

According to him, people who were near the house at that moment also died.

This attack became one of the largest in terms of casualties since the beginning of the full-scale war.

94 people were injured, including 18 children. 46 people were rescued, including 7 children. 6 people are missing, including one child.

About 1,298 tons of construction debris were removed from under the rubble. Rescuers also found three pets — two cats and a parrot — and handed them over to their owners.
