
On December 22, Russian troops attacked two DTEK energy facilities in the Odessa region, the company said in a statement.
The facilities are significantly damaged, and it will take time to restore them, DTEK explains.
Energy workers are working in an intensified mode to restore critical infrastructure and homes of residents of the Odessa region as soon as possible. Air raid sirens, which sound every hour, are also adding to the difficulties, energy workers reported.
Deputy Prime Minister for Restoration Oleksiy Kuleba added that more than 120,000 subscribers in the Odessa region are left without electricity due to damage to the energy sector. The region is provided with heat and water supply.
“The Russian Federation is not stopping its attacks on the Odessa region. Russia is trying to destroy maritime logistics by launching systematic attacks on port and energy infrastructure,” he wrote on Telegram.
According to Kuleba, the port of Pivdennyi was again hit, as a result of which about 30 containers with flour and vegetable oil caught fire. The elimination of the consequences is ongoing.
On December 22, the head of the Odessa regional military administration, Oleg Kiper, reported that at night Russian troops again attacked energy and industrial infrastructure facilities in the Odessa region. A fire broke out at one of the facilities, one person was injured.
Massive attacks on Odessa and the region have been ongoing for more than 10 days. Port and energy infrastructure facilities were damaged as a result of the attacks.
