Missile strike on Kharkiv on January 2: woman’s body found under rubble

In Kharkiv on the night of January 3, a woman’s body was pulled from under the rubble of a high-rise building. The total number of people killed in the Russian strike has increased to two people.

“Another body was found under the rubble of a destroyed building: according to preliminary information, it is a woman’s,” he wrote.

The Chairman added that search and rescue operations at the site of the crash are continuing.

On January 2, the Russian army struck an apartment building in the Kyivskyi district with Iskander missiles. 31 people were reported injured.

On the evening of January 2, it also became known that a child’s body was found under the rubble of a high-rise building in Kharkiv.

On January 2, the Russians struck the center of Kharkiv with two missiles. There are victims, including children.

According to police, the strike damaged 25 apartment buildings, a hospital building, an educational institution, a commercial and office building, as well as 33 cars.

“The bodies of a three-year-old boy and a 22-year-old woman were recovered from the rubble. Five more people have not been contacted. The search for them is ongoing. About 30 citizens, including a six-month-old boy, were also injured as a result of two rocket strikes,” the report said.

The deceased woman is the mother of the boy whose body was discovered earlier. This was confirmed by the prosecutor’s office.

The State Emergency Service said that search and rescue operations at the site of the destroyed building lasted all night and are continuing now.

Rescuers from the State Emergency Service, together with all emergency and municipal services, are working at the scene of the impact: clearing the rubble and helping the injured.
