
On January 2, the Russians fired missiles at the center of Kharkiv. As a result of the attack, a historical and architectural monument was damaged – a residential building at 122 Sumska Street.
The building suffered significant damage, especially its rear part.
The residential building is a monument of local architectural significance. It was built in the early 20th century.
The building is known for being home to prominent Ukrainian writers: Ostap Vyshnia (real name Pavlo Mykhailovych Hubenko) – a Ukrainian satirist and humorist, he lived in this building around 1926 – 1930, as well as Vasyl Chechviansky – a Ukrainian writer and publicist, who lived here in 1930 – 1936.
Memorial plaques in their honor are installed on the facade.
