A priest from the Kherson diocese died as a result of a Russian drone strike

As a result of a Russian drone strike on January 5, 2025, the priest of the Pokrovsky Church of the village of Orlove, Archpriest Georgy Gorbenko, died.

This was reported by the rector of the St. Kasperovsky Church of Kherson and the head of the diocesan department for family affairs, Ivan Gordienko.

The tragedy occurred on the territory of his parish.

The Kherson diocese reported on the death of the priest and expressed condolences to his family.

The temple of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Moscow Patriarchate in Kherson came under fire from the Russian army.
