Russians damage 20 houses in Sumy

The consequences of the evening airstrike on January 17 on Sumy were catastrophic for residents of the private sector. The guided bomb left a huge crater in its wake and completely destroyed the homes of the townspeople.

As a result of the attack, about 20 private houses were damaged. Many buildings had their walls knocked out, their roofs and ceilings destroyed. For some families, this means the complete loss of housing, as some buildings are practically beyond repair. Due to the large-scale destruction, people were forced to seek shelter for the night with friends or relatives, and in the morning they returned to the remains of their homes.

The situation is complicated by extreme weather conditions – currently the frost in Sumy is -17 degrees. Despite the cold, volunteers, utility services and concerned citizens are working at the site of the impact. They are helping residents to board up windows and carry out urgent repairs in order to at least somehow keep the heat in the surviving rooms and protect property from freezing.
