
On the evening of January 17, the Russians attacked the suburbs of Sumy with aerial bombs. As a result of the shelling, houses were damaged, and in the regional center itself there were power and water outages.
This was reported by the head of the Sumy city military administration Serhiy Kryvosheyenko, the head of the Sumy regional military administration Oleh Grigorov and the Sumy city council.
“The loud explosions heard by residents of Sumy are associated with the strike of guided air bombs on the suburbs. Residential buildings, outbuildings and cars were damaged. 2 people were previously injured,” the report says.
The head of the Sumy regional military administration noted that during the day and evening of January 17, Russian troops attacked the Sumy district with guided bombs and drones.
“The strikes were directed at civilian infrastructure and life support facilities. As a result of the strikes with guided bombs in the Sumy community, civilians were injured, including a minor child,” Grigorov informed.
According to him, in general, two victims are preliminary known. They are being provided with the necessary medical assistance.
Kryvosheyenko also added that the Russian strike has complicated the power supply in the city. At the same time, the city council informed that due to power outages, one of the water intakes in Sumy was cut off from 20:30.
