
All queues of the Special Emergency Outage Schedule have been introduced in Chernihiv region due to the consequences of the Russian attack on Ukraine’s energy infrastructure.
The press service of “Chernigovoblenergo” reported this on Tuesday, January 20.
The company stated that as of noon in Chernihiv region, 87% of consumers were left without electricity. All three queues of the special emergency schedule were introduced at once.
They also reminded that the Special Emergency Outage Schedule is introduced only at the command of the national energy company “Ukrenergo”.
“This command must be executed within three minutes from the moment of its receipt without warning consumers and local executive bodies,” the message says.
As a result of the massive air attack that the Russian Federation launched on Ukraine on the night of January 19-20, the Chernobyl nuclear power plant completely lost its external power supply.
On January 20, DTEK reported that emergency power outages were in effect in the Kyiv region. As of noon, almost 90,000 consumers were left without power.
