
There was no fire in the market area in the city of Druzhkivka after the Russian strike. This was reported by Stanislav Baldin, spokesman for the State Emergency Service of Ukraine in Donetsk region.
According to him, rescuers provided first aid to one of the wounded and took him to the hospital.
The press service of the National Police in Donetsk region reported that the shelling occurred at around 12:00, when the market was crowded.
The Russians used Smerch MLRS with cluster munitions for the strike.
According to the Donetsk regional prosecutor’s office, the attack damaged shopping pavilions and a car.
The victims were diagnosed with mine-explosive injuries, fractures and other injuries.
According to preliminary data, seven people were killed and 15 others were injured in Russian strikes on Druzhkivka in Donetsk region on February 4.
This was reported by the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Vadym Filashkin.
According to him, the Russians shelled the city with cluster shells – they hit the market, where there is always a mass gathering of people in the morning.
Filashkin said that the dead were from 43 to 81 years old, the wounded were from 50 to 72 years old.
The head of the regional administration noted that the final number of victims of this attack has not yet been established. He will report on significant updates in due course.
According to him, all responsible services are working on the spot: they are providing assistance to the victims and eliminating the consequences of the shelling.
In addition, the Russians also dropped two air bombs on Druzhkivka. An industrial zone, 3 high-rise buildings and 3 private houses were damaged.
He urged local residents to evacuate to safer regions.
