Russian troops continue to strike at Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. On February 11, trains and stations in several regions were attacked.
This was reported by the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine – Minister of Community and Territorial Development Oleksiy Kuleba.
“In the morning, the Russians also struck a railway station in the Dnipropetrovsk region. Locomotives, wagons and infrastructure were damaged. A fire broke out, which was quickly extinguished,” Kuleba noted.
According to him, another strike was also carried out on the railway depot in Konotop in the morning – damage to rolling stock was recorded. The Russians continue to attack this railway junction in Sumy region.
“The most important thing is that no workers were injured. Emergency crews are working on the scene. This is another targeted attack on civilian logistics and critical infrastructure. Despite the strikes, all services are doing their best to resume work as soon as possible,” the vice prime minister added.
Due to Russian shelling of railway infrastructure in some directions in different regions of Ukraine, delays in Ukrzaliznytsia trains are possible. In some areas, passengers will be transported by buses for safety reasons.
Russia has intensified strikes on civilian railway infrastructure in northern Ukraine – drones hit a locomotive, a diesel train and tracks in Sumy and Chernihiv regions, injuring a railway worker.
