In the temporarily occupied Oleshkiv community, the situation with the burial of the dead is critical: the morgue in the city has been without electricity for three years, and people are often buried without proper procedures.
This was reported by the head of the Oleshkiv city military administration, Tetyana Hasanenko.
According to her, even issuing a death certificate is a big problem. Due to the lack of the ability to carry out the necessary medical procedures, the bodies of the deceased often cannot be officially documented.
“People are often buried in the city simply in plastic bags, without observing any ritual services,” Hasanenko said.
She also noted that the community is acutely lacking in medical personnel, in particular qualified specialists. In fact, medical care is almost inaccessible.
According to the head of the city military administration, sometimes the bodies of the deceased are taken to the morgue in wheelbarrows, where they remain. The morgue itself was recently damaged by shelling. There has been no electricity there for about three years, and the only possibility of temporary storage of bodies is currently due to the winter air temperature.
In the temporarily occupied town of Oleshky on the left bank of the Kherson region, there is not a single working pharmacy left.
