The Russian army continues to commit war crimes against the population of Ukraine. Attacks on medical transport and civilians look particularly brazen and inhumane. The Russian attack on a medical transport in the Sumy region ended in the death of people.
In the Znob-Novgorod community of the Shostka district, late in the evening of February 21, two brothers blew themselves up with an explosive device. An ambulance with a driver, a police officer and his wife, a paramedic, went there to provide medical assistance to the victims.
The medic provided emergency assistance to the wounded on the spot, and the car set off on its way back. But before the ambulance could leave the scene, it was targeted by a Russian drone.
The victims of the explosion – a 17-year-old boy, his 24-year-old brother, as well as a 25-year-old paramedic and a 32-year-old police officer – died on the spot. The ambulance driver was injured.
Prosecutors, in cooperation with other law enforcement agencies, are documenting the consequences of the shelling.
