In Zaporizhzhia, 9 injured after night attack, shopping center also seriously damaged after fire

The number of injured after the night Russian strikes on Zaporizhzhia is nine injured. Rescuers have completed emergency work and extinguished all fires. One of the Epicenters was seriously damaged by the fire, and the blast wave also blew out windows on the 1st floor of the Ukraina shopping center.

Many explosions were heard in Zaporizhzhia on the night of February 26. State Emergency Service personnel worked at 5 locations at once after a massive Russian attack on the city. Civilians were injured. Also, 500 houses in three districts of the city were left without heat supply due to the consequences of the flights. As a result of the night attack by Russian troops on Zaporizhzhia, the number of injured has increased to nine people (previously 7 injured were reported). All of them are being provided with the necessary medical assistance, information about the condition of the injured is being clarified.

As reported in the press service of the regional State Emergency Service, rescuers extinguished the fires that broke out after the hits, surveyed the territories and checked the buildings for casualties. The service’s psychologists also provided assistance to 16 residents. One of the hits hit a high-rise building. According to a resident of the building, the explosion occurred on the upper floors, and in her apartment the windows were broken and the batteries burst. As a result, the apartment was flooded with water, the appliances and the floor were damaged. The woman says that neighbors from the entrance and surrounding houses came to help her.

Civil infrastructure facilities also suffered serious damage. In particular, the shopping center and the Epicenter chain store building were damaged – goods and structures burned out in the premises, windows were broken, and a lot of fire-damaged products were destroyed. In the “Ukraine” shopping center, the suicide bomber hit the roof. The shock wave also blew out windows on the first floor. Emergency and rescue operations at the scene of the attacks have already been completed, but services continue to assess the consequences of the attack and assist residents.
