
In the Dnipropetrovsk region, a Russian drone hit a suburban train while it was moving. One person died, at least nine were injured, Ukrzaliznytsia reported.
The attack occurred in the Kryvyi Rih district of the Dnipropetrovsk region, on the route that connects Nikopol and the surrounding area, the head of Ukrzaliznytsia Oleksandr Pertsovskyi gave details.
“They have already removed long-distance trains from here, but they are also targeting trains in motion. Absolutely civilian trains that are carrying passengers,” he wrote on Facebook.
One of the passengers was transported by ambulance to Kryvyi Rih in serious condition, but doctors were unable to save his life; he died on the way to the hospital.
Another person was seriously injured, up to five passengers have cuts of varying degrees, Ukrzaliznytsia reports.
According to the Deputy Prime Minister for the Reconstruction of Ukraine Oleksiy Kuleba, seven passengers were injured.
The locomotive crew urgently stopped the train and extinguished the fire. Rescuers, railway workers and a paramedic from the nearest stations and depot arrived at the scene.
The injured are being taken to hospitals, and transportation is being organized for the remaining passengers. Reserve bus routes have been planned.
