On March 2, the Russian army massively bombed residential areas in Sumy, Shostka and Okhtyrskyі districts. Four people were injured due to attacks on civilian infrastructure, including a 13-year-old child. Police and explosives technicians worked at the sites of the strikes – they documented the destruction for criminal proceedings.
The details of the strikes in the region were published by the press service of the National Police of Ukraine. The most difficult situation is in the Sumy community – a 13-year-old child and a 60-year-old woman were injured in the explosions there. The strike hit the very center of community life: a high-rise building, a hotel, and a car wash were damaged. Three private houses were also under fire, two cars were damaged, and people were left without electricity due to broken power lines.
“A 60-year-old man and a 47-year-old woman were injured in the Seredyno-Budа community,” law enforcement officials noted.
The shelling did not cease in U Trostyanets, where shells hit two shops and two private houses, and a car was also damaged. In addition, a private house in the Shostka community was hit. All day, police officers collected debris and recorded each hit.
“Criminal proceedings have been opened for each of the documented facts under Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (war crimes),” the department concluded.
