Russia strikes railway in Chernihiv region: train driver and assistant injured

The Russian army continues to shell Ukraine’s railway infrastructure. Once again, the Russians have struck a diesel locomotive in the Chernihiv region.

The train driver and his assistant were injured as a result of the attack. This was reported by the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.

According to the ministry, a Russian kamikaze drone targeted a diesel locomotive. The UAV hit caused a fire.

The train driver and his assistant were injured. They were provided with the necessary assistance. All relevant services are working at the scene.

The regional military administration reported that on the night and morning of March 18, the Russians used drones to strike transport infrastructure in the Mensk community. A railway worker was injured. The 37-year-old train driver has already been operated on by doctors, he is in stable condition under medical supervision.

Due to the security situation, Ukrzaliznytsia reported the delay of a number of trains in Sumy and Chernihiv regions. The Ministry of Community and Territorial Development of Ukraine noted that “Russia has again attacked civilian railway infrastructure in Chernihiv region.”
