One person in intensive care: Russians attacked Kryvyi Rih with three waves of “Shahed”

On the night of March 23 and in the morning, Kryvyi Rih was subjected to a massive attack by kamikaze drones. The Russian attacked the city in three waves, striking civilian infrastructure.

Kryvyi Rih again became a target for Russian attack drones of the “Shahed” type. For a certain period of time, the sounds of similar explosions were heard in the city.

As a result of the shelling, four men aged 31, 36, 58 and 60 were injured. Three of them were hospitalized. According to updated information as of 18:30, three victims are currently in the hospital: one elderly man in extremely serious condition has already undergone surgery, doctors are fighting for his life. Two more are in moderate condition and are receiving the necessary assistance. One victim with minor injuries was treated on the spot.

As a result of the attack, in addition to infrastructure facilities, at least 12 apartment buildings were damaged – in particular, roofs, windows and balconies. Several fires were recorded, which were promptly eliminated by the State Emergency Service units. Utilities and necessary equipment are involved in the elimination of the consequences. Work is ongoing – the first priority is to close the damaged windows and roofs, after which full-fledged repair work will begin.

On the morning of March 23, a headquarters for assisting victims was deployed in the city, where the necessary building materials were delivered. In the future, applications for material assistance will continue to be accepted at the Department of Labor and Social Protection of the Population, as well as at the district executive committee. All affected residents will receive assistance.

Since the beginning of the year, 1,116 residents have already received compensation for a total of UAH 34.3 million. In total, over 12,000 Kryvyi Rih residents received assistance worth UAH 438.6 million in 2022–2026. Despite the attacks, the city continues to operate: all services, hospitals, and social institutions are functioning.

Residents are once again urged not to ignore air raid sirens and take care of their own safety.
