Almost 26 thousand facilities damaged due to Russian attacks on Ukrzaliznytsia

Since the beginning of 2026, Ukrzaliznytsia facilities have accounted for more than 10% of all Russian attacks recorded during the full-scale war. According to the chairman of the company’s board, Oleksandr Pertsovskyі, there have been 472 such attacks since January.

Olexandr Pertsovskyі reported this.

In total, according to him, since the beginning of the great war, Russian forces have attacked the company’s facilities almost 5 thousand times. Locomotives, passenger cars and stations were hit.

Pertsovskyі also reported on the consequences of these attacks for employees and the infrastructure itself. During the full-scale war, 39 railway workers died. In addition, almost 26 thousand facilities were damaged.

The chairman of the board of Ukrzaliznytsia noted that the intensity of such attacks is increasing. He attributed this to the fact that in the spring the Russians shifted the focus of attacks from energy to transport infrastructure in order to complicate logistics in the country as much as possible.

Ukrzaliznytsia does not plan to stop work due to Russian attacks. On the contrary, the company is looking for solutions to ensure safe transportation conditions for passengers and employees. To this end, they have developed special rules of conduct when declaring an air alert.

Now passengers will definitely be evacuated from trains to wait out the attack. Ukrzaliznytsia has made sure that passengers have access to food if the train stops for a long time.
