No casualties.

Damage to the agricultural sector of the Kharkiv region from the aggression of the Russian Federation

The agricultural sector of the Kharkiv region, which until 2022 was one of the most powerful in Ukraine, suffered significant losses as a result of the aggression of the Russian Federation. The region found itself in the epicenter of hostilities.

The losses can be divided into several key areas.

Russian troops systematically struck at facilities necessary for the agricultural production cycle: grain elevators and granaries – some of the large granaries were destroyed. Strikes on them are often accompanied by fires, burning thousands of tons of crops; equipment – direct hits, looting and theft of equipment in the occupied territories deprived farmers of tractors, combines and seeders; livestock complexes – the Kharkiv region lost a significant part of its livestock due to shelling of farms (during one of the last strikes on a farm in the Solonytsivska community, about 100 pigs died).

Due to the aggression, grain harvest in the Kharkiv region was significantly reduced from 4.8 million tons per year to 1.9 million tons.
