In the Kakhovsky reservoir, which cools the Zaporizhzhіa NPP, there is a decrease in the water level. This can cause concern
This was reported by the Director General of the International Atomic Energy Agency, Rafael Grossi.
“Although the water level decline does not pose an immediate threat to nuclear safety, it could become a source of concern if allowed to continue,” Grossi said.
According to him, the decrease in the water level in the reservoir is another indicator of the many potential risks for the ZNPP against the background of the war and emphasizes that one should never be complacent about the safety and protection of the plant.
International experts record a large number of explosions near the Zaporozhye nuclear power plant almost every day. Because of this, a nuclear safety zone should be established around the ZNPP as soon as possible.
