Russians prepare copper and zinc mining in Luhansk region

In the temporarily occupied territories of Luhansk region, Russian state structures have intensified preparations for industrial copper and zinc mining. This is evidenced by data from the Center of National Resistance, published on April 5.

The invaders’ geologists recently completed a detailed study of the Nagolny Ridge in the Rovenkivskyi district. Local residents of the temporarily occupied Miusinsk report fresh damage to the quartz layer near the village.

In January, a little-known company, Alchevskpromgrupp, received a license for the exploration and mining of copper, zinc, gold and silver in the region. The authorized capital of this “investor” is only 10,000 rubles, and the staff is one person.

Active work at the Bobrykovskyі gold deposit began back in 2025, long before the formal “auction” was held. It was previously owned by the Australian company Korab Resources, which conducted geological exploration there. However, after the occupation of the region in 2014, the company completely lost control of the asset.
