Shelling of Zaporizhzhia: Russians attacked the city and the district, there are victims

The shelling of Zaporizhzhia on the night of April 8 led to the death of civilians and large-scale destruction. The occupying Russian troops attacked both the regional center itself and the settlements of the district. The head of the Zaporizhzhia Regional Military Administration, Ivan Fedorov, reported on the consequences.

According to preliminary data, at least one person was killed, another was injured. Later, it was clarified that in total two people became victims of the attack, and nine more were injured.

In the village of Balabyne, residential and non-residential buildings were destroyed and damaged as a result of strikes by guided aerial bombs. Fires broke out at the scene, and rescuers found the body of a deceased person under the rubble of one of the houses.

A separate strike was carried out on Zaporizhzhia – a fire broke out there on the territory of a garage cooperative. As a result of the attack, a 47-year-old woman was injured and is receiving all necessary medical care.

During April 7, Russian troops carried out 804 strikes on 45 settlements in the region.

19 airstrikes were recorded on a number of settlements.

573 drones, mostly FPV, attacked dozens of settlements.

6 attacks from multiple launch rocket systems were recorded on Novoandriyevka, Malaya Tokmachka, Hulyaypilske, Verkhnya Tersa, Vozdvizhivka.

Another 206 artillery strikes fell on Chervonodnyeprovka, Bilenke, Novoyakovlivka, Stepnohirsk, Prymorske, Stepovoe, Pavlovka, Lukyanivka, Orekhovo, Hulyaipol, Zaliznychne, Shcherbaky, Novoandriyevka, Novodanylivka, Malya Tokmachka, Charivne, Hulyaipol’ske, Staroukrainka, Sviatopetrivka, Varvarivka, Olenokostyantynivka, Dobropilly.

In total, 91 reports of damage to residential buildings, infrastructure and vehicles were received.

The shelling of Zaporizhzhia remains one of the most intense in recent times, and the activity of hostilities in the region remains high.
