
In Zaporizhzhia, religious and social communities that had been helping local residents and displaced persons for a long time suffered as a result of Russian attacks. This was reported by the head of the Zaporizhzhia regional military administration, Ivan Fedorov.
The shelling damaged places where people were provided daily assistance.
In particular, on April 16, the “House of the Gospel” prayer house was damaged as a result of a guided bomb strike. As a result of the attack, one of the parishioners died, leaving behind his family.
On the same day, the Max Grant House, a space where children and the elderly are worked with daily, was also damaged. At the time of the strike, about 60 people were inside.
Since the beginning of the full-scale war in the region, 27 religious buildings have been destroyed or damaged. Pressure on religious communities continues in the temporarily occupied territories. The authorities, together with the clergy, are discussing further steps to support the victims.
