A native of Volnovakha was sentenced to 22 years in Russia on charges of “terrorism”

A 26-year-old Ukrainian woman from Volnovakha was sentenced in Russia, accusing her of participating in a “terrorist group”. This was reported by the occupation court in Rostov-on-Don.

Russian law enforcement officials claim that the girl was involved in an attempt on the life of a police officer of the self-proclaimed “DPR”. The Russian court accuses the Ukrainian woman of preparing a terrorist attack. According to their information, the girl allegedly monitored a “DPR” police officer, and after receiving the coordinates of a cache of explosives, she allegedly placed it near the entrance of the house where the officer lived.

No one was injured in the explosion. The girl was detained and imprisoned in October 2024, and her trial began in May 2025. Almost a year later, a Russian court sentenced her, accusing her of participating in a “terrorist group,” using explosives, and treason. The girl was sentenced to 22 years in a general-regime penal colony and ordered to pay a fine of 600,000 rubles.
