Russia massively shelled four districts of Sumy region: there are dead and wounded

During May 6-7, Russia carried out massive shelling of the border and rear areas of Sumy region, which led to casualties and significant destruction. Four districts were affected by the attacks, in particular, the Sumy community suffered the greatest losses, where two women and one man were killed. Eight people were also injured in this community.

In addition, in the Novoslobodsk community, a man died as a result of a direct hit of a shell on a residential building. In the Velykopysarivska community, the death of a civilian resident who was blown up by an enemy mine was recorded. In other communities, such as the Shostka, Okhtyrsky and Konotop districts, three more people were injured.

It should be noted separately that two people were injured as a result of the night strike on the Dnieper River by Russian drones on May 7. Among the victims in Dnipro were a 21-year-old pregnant woman and a 45-year-old man. The situation in the region remains tense, as shelling and threats to civilians continue.

The situation in Sumy region underscores the escalation of the conflict and the danger to civilians in Ukraine. The constant shelling of border areas indicates the persistence of aggression by Russia, which could have serious consequences for security and stability in the region.

Such events also draw the attention of the international community to the humanitarian consequences of war and the need to protect civilians.

Against the backdrop of Russia’s continued attacks on Sumy region, it is also important to pay attention to other tragedies that have occurred in the region. Not long ago, as a result of aggression, an ambulance was targeted by shelling, resulting in injuries to medics and civilians. These incidents underscore the immediate threat to the lives of those trying to help victims and indicate the seriousness of the situation in the region.
