Kherson under massive shelling: there are dead and dozens injured

On May 13, Kherson and its suburbs are under combined shelling by the Russian military – two people were killed, dozens were injured.

As reported by the press service of the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, since the night of May 13, the Russian army has been attacking settlements in the Kherson region with gun and rocket artillery, drones of various types.

As of 17:30, it was recorded that two people died from the consequences of Russian aggression, another 26 civilians were injured, some victims are in serious condition.

In particular, in Nadiivka, a woman was killed by a Russian FPV drone, another one was injured. In Komyshany, an elderly woman received injuries incompatible with life due to shelling by the Russian army.

“In Kherson and Komyshany, 24 more civilians suffered from the effects of the use of FPV and artillery. Nine of them were on a shuttle bus traveling through the regional center. Two more – rescuers – a drone hit a service car… Police officers were also injured from Russian attacks,” the prosecutor’s office said.

In addition, private and apartment buildings, a passenger bus, and other vehicles were damaged.

A pre-trial investigation into the facts of war crimes has been launched (Parts 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine).

In Kherson, the city military administration also stated that on May 13, Kherson was under combined shelling by Russian troops.

“Many were injured as a result of drone attacks. Due to the high activity of Russian drones, it was necessary to temporarily restrict the movement of public transport on one of the streets of the Central District,” the city administration emphasized.

It is said that the Russians hit residential areas with artillery – one of the shells hit a high-rise building. As a result, about 20 windows were broken. A 66-year-old woman who was in an apartment at the time of the Russian strike was injured. She is currently in the hospital with a concussion, explosive and closed head injuries.

It is also noted that a 77-year-old Kherson woman was taken to the hospital, who was injured as a result of the Russian shelling of the Dnipro district – she received a concussion, explosive and closed head injuries, and a shrapnel wound to her right leg.

The Russians directed the drone at a shuttle bus owned by the Kherson City Council’s municipal enterprise. At the time of the strike, the bus was in the central part of the city. Among the 9 victims are 75-year-old, 25-year-old, and 72-year-old men, women 74, 60, 70, 50 years old, etc. A 47-year-old minibus driver also sought medical attention.
