
On the night of May 16, Russia sent dozens of suicide drones to the south of the Odessa region. Izmail and its port infrastructure were under attack. According to the Izmail district regional military administration, 39 settlements in the Izmail district were left without power due to damage to overhead lines, leaving 22,662 subscribers without electricity. One of the Russian drones hit a five-story building, damaging the facade, breaking windows, and causing a fire. A fire broke out on the balconies, which spread to a car dealership on the first floor. Two civilians were injured in the Russian attack: a 59-year-old and a 74-year-old man. The victims were provided with medical assistance on the spot.
In addition, another one-story building was damaged.
Port infrastructure was also damaged – a warehouse and an administrative building. Glass was broken at the facilities. In addition, debris was recorded falling onto the territory of an educational institution.
