In the city of Oleshki, Russian military violates the laws of war and the Geneva Convention

In Ukraine, Russian military shell Kherson from the occupied city of Oleshki and, in order to remain unnoticed, change into civilian women’s clothes. This was reported by the coordinator of the volunteer public association Humanity Stefan Vorontsov. His organization helps people leave the occupied settlements of southern Ukraine.

Kherson is located too close, so the Russians use Oleshki as a springboard for shelling it. Russian military change into civilian clothes. We communicate with Ukrainian military and they talk about cases recorded from drones: a person in a bathrobe is walking, her head covered with a scarf – she looks like an old woman, but has a man’s build, and she also smokes cigarettes. And if such a person is killed, they will come in a minute to shoot propaganda material about the fact that it is supposedly Ukrainian military personnel shelling civilians,” said Stefan Vorontsov, coordinator of the Humanity public association.

In occupied Oleshki, Russian military personnel and officials are also violating international treaties of the Geneva Convention, said the head of the Oleshki city military administration, Tetyana Hasanenko. This winter and spring, people died of hunger, they still have not been brought food, medicines and pensions, and the communal infrastructure has been destroyed.

I know that even flour was sold by the glass, and it was quite expensive. However, there is practically no money in the city: even the conditional social payments that the Russians promised (although, according to the Geneva Convention, they are the ones who are obliged to take care of people in temporarily occupied territories) are almost impossible to receive. To apply for assistance, you need to go to Skadovsk. “And this is the same road that was constantly shelled even before the onset of winter and on which people always died,” Hasanenko said.
