Russian troops hit the Kernel grain elevator in Khmelnytskyi with a drone

During a night attack by Russian drones on May 18 in the Khmelnytskyi region, the grain elevator complex of the Kernel agroholding was damaged. This was reported by the company’s press service on May 19.

As a result of the hit, silos and warehouses for storing grain were damaged. Part of the grain reserves spilled out due to the destruction of structures. The company’s employees were not injured. Currently, an assessment of the damage and work to eliminate the consequences of the attack is underway.

By the way, this is not the first attack on the agroholding’s facilities. Thus, on the night of May 3, Russian drones attacked the port infrastructure of Chornomorsk in the Odessa region and damaged the Kernel vegetable oil transshipment terminal. And in August 2024, the agroholding’s largest oilseed processing plant was damaged.

Kernel is the largest agricultural holding in Ukraine with a land bank of over 500 thousand hectares, founded in 1995 by Andriy Verevskyі. Kernel is the largest producer and exporter of sunflower oil in Ukraine and one of the leading suppliers of agro-industrial products on the international market. The company provides about 15% of world exports of sunflower oil and 18% of grain exports.
