
On the morning of May 19, Russian drones struck Kharkiv and its suburbs. As a result of the attacks, a 69-year-old woman died, at least six more people were injured, among the injured was a child.
This was reported by the State Emergency Service of the Kharkiv region and the head of the regional military administration, Oleg Synegubov.
In the village of Pokotylivka, Kharkiv district, a 69-year-old woman died as a result of a UAV hit. A 7-year-old girl was injured. Her parents experienced an acute stress reaction, the regional prosecutor’s office reported. As a result of the strike, residential buildings and cars were damaged, and a fire broke out at the scene, which was extinguished by rescuers.
In the Novobavarskyi district of Kharkiv, a direct hit by a drone destroyed a residential building with a subsequent fire of about 150 square meters.
According to preliminary data from Synegubov, a 47-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman were injured. The man was injured by glass fragments, the woman was diagnosed with acute stress reaction. A 73-year-old woman was also hospitalized with symptoms of acute stress reaction.
Work is underway at the sites of the strikes to eliminate the consequences of shelling and clear the rubble. Units of the State Emergency Service, including sappers, dog handlers and psychologists, have been involved in the work, since people may be under the rubble, the head of the regional military administration emphasized.
