In Konotop, the Russians almost destroyed one of the oldest museums: workers are saving exhibits under fire

In the city of Konotop, the Russian strike on May 20 actually destroyed one of the oldest local history museums in the city.

The museum’s collections contained unique collections of archaeological finds, materials from local history, natural history exhibits, and ethnography of the Konotop region.

According to Iryna Nikiforova, a representative of the public association “Center for Assistance to the Arts of Ukraine – Kyiv”, the museum building is almost completely destroyed. Despite the danger and destruction, museum employees are trying to save at least some of the surviving exhibits, risking their own lives after the attack.
