Dolphins are dying en masse near Mariupol, and the Russians are ignoring the catastrophe

Another case of the death of marine mammals has been recorded on the coast of the Sea of Azov near Mariupol. This was reported by the head of the Center for the Study of Occupation, Petro Andryuschenko.

The situation is becoming catastrophic, because the mass death of dolphins and fish is happening even before the onset of the summer heat. This means that there are currently no natural prerequisites – such as abnormal warming of the water or a decrease in oxygen levels – for such a tragedy. The main factor remains the destructive activities of the Russians, which are leading to a real ecocide in the region.

Despite numerous complaints from local residents and obvious evidence on social networks, the so-called “Ministry of Natural Resources and Ecology of the DPR” is demonstrating complete indifference and disowning the problem. In response to reports of a mass fish and dolphin death near Mariupol, Urzuf, Sedovoye and Belosarayskaya Kosa, the Russian “Ministry of Ecology” stated that it had no official confirmation of this catastrophe, so it could neither admit nor deny it. Instead of eliminating the consequences of the ecocide, the Russians simply redirected requests to local pseudo-administrations and Rosrybalstvo to collect information.

The real ecological situation in the occupied Donetsk region is rapidly deteriorating. The bodies of mammals continue to decompose on the coast, where people will soon try to relax.

As Petro Andryushchenko notes, the Russian position is extremely cynical, and the only question that remains open and really worries the civilian population is: what should ordinary people do now in the face of this progressive ecocide and total disregard by the “authorities”?

Due to Russian actions and technogenic collapse, the Azov Sea and the occupied Zaporizhzhia region are on the verge of an ecological disaster. Dolphins and dead sturgeons contaminated with fuel oil are constantly being thrown onto the coasts of Mariupol and Urzuf. In addition, as a result of the destruction of hydraulic structures and the discharge of sewage, the ecosystems of the Kalchyk and Kalmius rivers have been completely destroyed, and in the Kamyana Mohyla reserve, the Russians are exterminating Red Book birds.
