Missiles and drones over Cherkasy region: Russian attack hits high-rise building in Cherkasy, children among victims

Cherkasy region experienced one of the most difficult nights – the region was under a combined air strike by Russia. Despite the effective work of air defense forces, the consequences could not be avoided: a Russian drone hit a residential high-rise building in Cherkasy.

According to information provided by the head of the Cherkasy regional military administration, Igor Taburets, air defense forces and means, as well as mobile fire groups in Cherkasy region, neutralized 8 Russian missiles and 22 drones.

The main blow was taken by the regional center. In Cherkasy, a Russian drone hit a residential high-rise building, which caused a fire in apartments from the 5th to the 9th floors. Rescuers managed to quickly eliminate the fire.

The attack injured 11 people, including two children. Most of the victims were provided with medical assistance on the spot. Three members of the emergency medical team were hospitalized.

Also in the Zolotonish district, a cruise missile damaged a non-functioning farm. Fortunately, there were no casualties.

Currently, the territories are being surveyed. All necessary services are working on the ground.
