
On the night of May 24, Russian troops launched a massive combined strike on Kyiv. As a result of the shelling in the capital, large-scale destruction of civilian infrastructure, residential buildings, and fires were recorded in various districts of the city. Rescuers continue to eliminate the consequences of the strikes.
According to the State Emergency Service, calls about fires and destruction came from more than 40 locations in various districts of the capital.
In addition, a fire broke out at a school in the district – the fire engulfed the second floor of the educational institution on an area of about 300 square meters. A business center was also hit, a fire broke out in the market area, and a nine-story residential building was damaged.
The building of the museum of the Main Directorate of the State Emergency Service in the Kyiv region was also damaged.
In the Darnytskyi district, the roof of a two-story dormitory caught fire as a result of the attack. The fire area reached about 250 square meters. Part of the building was destroyed.
Rescuers evacuated 10 people, rescued another 12 people. Five injured were hospitalized.
In Desnyanskyі district, fires broke out in the territory of a garage cooperative and in a hangar. The fire damaged cars and several garage boxes.
In Obolonskyі district, a fire was recorded in a business center building. The fire spread from the third to the fifth floors. A fire was also reported in a residential building and a construction hypermarket.
In Svyatoshynskyі district, a nine-story residential building was damaged.
In Solomyanskyі district, destruction and fire occurred in a high-rise building, and warehouses in an industrial zone were also damaged.
In Pecherskyі district, rescuers extinguished a fire in a new building and near a residential sector.
In Holosiivskyi district, debris and explosive hazards made it difficult to extinguish a fire on the territory of a tennis court – pyrotechnicians were involved in the work.
