
The massive attack on Kherson and settlements of the region continued on May 24. Russian troops fired artillery, multiple rocket launchers, and drones at residential neighborhoods, the market, and civilian infrastructure. Two people were killed and 16 others were wounded as a result of the shelling.
This was reported by the Main Directorate of the National Police in the Kherson region. On May 24, Russian troops shelled Kherson, Belozerka, Stanislav, Sadovo, Shyroka Balka, Tokarivka, Priozerne, Beryslav, Novoraysk, Osokorivka, Lviv, and other settlements in the region.
Three apartment buildings and seven private houses, an educational institution, a store, and civilian cars were damaged as a result of the attacks.
The Dniprovskyi district of Kherson suffered the most. Russian troops fired artillery at the market. Two men, aged 55 and 69, died as a result of the shelling.
Nine more people were wounded. The victims suffered from explosive injuries, concussions, and shrapnel wounds.
Later, the Russians attacked the market area with an FPV drone. A 65-year-old resident of Kherson was injured and hospitalized with a shrapnel wound to the thigh.
The Korabelny district of Kherson also came under fire. A 63-year-old man and two women, aged 81 and 48, were injured in an artillery strike.
In Belozerkа, two local women, aged 84 and 65, were injured as a result of Russian artillery shelling.
In addition, Russian troops fired multiple rocket launchers at the coastal part of the Central district of Kherson. An educational institution building was damaged.
Following the Russian attacks, Ukrainian law enforcement officers opened nine criminal proceedings under the article on war crimes.
