Over 11 million UAH of damage was caused to the environment by the air attack on Rivne

Environmental inspectors have calculated the damage from air pollution after the Russian attack on Rivne.

This was reported by the State Environmental Inspectorate.

As noted, the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Polissya District calculated the amount of damage caused to the environment as a result of unorganized emissions of pollutants into the atmosphere after the air attack on the city of Rivne.

Thus, the amount of damage caused by burning after the shelling on May 1, 2026 is over 11 million UAH.

According to the results of the calculations, it was established that as a result of burning, more than 27 tons of solids, as well as thousands of tons of CO2, were released into the atmosphere.

“In total, more than 3.5 thousand tons of carbon dioxide were released into the atmosphere. The total amount of damage caused to the environment is over 11.13 million UAH.

All materials with the relevant calculations were transferred to the Directorate of the Security Service of Ukraine in the Rivne region and the Specialized Environmental Prosecutor’s Office of the Rivne region to record war crimes against the environment and further collect reparations from the Russian Federation within the framework of criminal proceedings under Articles 441 “Ecocide” and 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine,” said Yevheniy Medvedovsky, Head of the State Environmental Inspectorate of the Polissya District.
