Russia recruited 28,000 foreigners for the war against Ukraine

Mercenaries are being recruited from 135 countries of the world through deception and financial manipulation.

Since the beginning of the full-scale invasion, the Russian Federation has recruited 28,000 citizens from 135 countries of the world for the war against Ukraine. This is evidenced by data from the Stop Russian Recruiters resource, which was created to expose the Russian system of recruiting foreigners, the press service of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reports.

In particular, the Ukrainian military took 48 citizens from different countries who fought on the side of the Russian Federation into captivity.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs revealed the scale of recruitment of Africans by Russia for the war against Ukraine

“Russia is increasingly actively involving citizens of other countries in the war: labor migrants, the unemployed, representatives of socially vulnerable groups from countries in Asia, Africa and Latin America. To do this, they use deception, psychological pressure and financial manipulation,” the department reported.
