
In total, since the start of the full-scale war on February 24, 2022, more than 2,000 facilities of Ukraine’s railway infrastructure have been destroyed or damaged.
In the first six months of 2026, Russia attacked railway facilities more than 1,000 times. This is reported by Rail.Insider with reference to the Ministry of Development of Communities and Territories of Ukraine.
The data was made public at the Ukraine Reconstruction Conference (URC 2026) in Gdansk, where the Ministry of Development of Ukraine, with the support of the United Nations Development Program, presented the concept of “Resilience as a System”.
The Ukrzaliznytsia space focused on the carrier’s experience of adapting to work under fire. In particular, the installation of a monitoring center recreated the daily work of railway workers to ensure stable transportation.
In total, more than 2 thousand railway infrastructure facilities have been destroyed or damaged since the beginning of the full-scale war. Earlier, Ukrzaliznytsia estimated the losses from Russian attacks at more than 100 billion hryvnias.
