Starved and not given medicine: a priest from Maryinka spoke about captivity, illnesses and prayers for Ukraine

He was frightened by execution three times, starved in captivity and was not given medicine. And all because in 2014 Donetsk had the courage to proudly say that Donetsk is Ukraine.

He prayed in Donetsk while supporting Maidan in 2014. For this, local collaborators captured him and imitated execution four times. And they released him only when the priest began to lose consciousness due to an exacerbation of diabetes.

Tikhon (Sergіy) Kulbaka is a Greek Catholic priest of Cossack origin. Since childhood, he was fond of Ukrainian culture and spoke his native language. And when the revolution of dignity began, he actively supported the Maidan. In the spring, invaders invaded the Donetsk region. People with Ukrainian views began to be persecuted. Despite this, Father Tikhon claimed that Donetsk is Ukraine.

Outraged collaborators kidnapped him and captured him. For nine days, a diabetic priest lived without medicine: only bread and water. He was blindfolded and more than once imitated execution.

“On the fourth day, when I was first taken to that mock execution, I lost consciousness. I started having an attack of atrial fibrillation,” recalls the priest.

Then the collaborators took him away in an unknown direction and left him. With the last of his strength, he reached the Ukrainian checkpoint. It turned out that the disease developed into cancer. But thanks to Israeli doctors, the Ukrainian recovered. Having overcome the illness, he returned to Ukraine. In Lviv, the man was sheltered by local monks. There, Father Tikhon runs the service and psychologically supports the settlers.

“The mother of a fighter from Azov, who is now in captivity, came to me. Mariupol. Trying to please her, her heart broke from pain because of what she was going through, ”says Kulbaka.

Almost 9 years have passed, but his thoughts are in the Donbass. Sergei Kulbaka believes that one day the native flag will fly over Donetsk again.

In the center of Mariupol, the occupiers are dismantling Khmelnytsky Boulevard

Russian invaders continue to destroy houses in Mariupol. Currently, work has begun on the demolition of high-rise buildings on Khmelnytskyi Boulevard.

This is reported by the Mariupol City Council.

“In the center of Mariupol, the occupiers are dismantling Khmelnytsky Boulevard,” the message reads.

The city council noted that the houses where the residents of Mariupol lived are turning into a pile of stones.

“The Russians destroyed the peaceful life and plans for the future of tens of thousands of city residents. And they call it “restoration of life”, added the city council.

The Russians shelled Pokrovsk at night: 15 houses were damaged

On the night of Monday, February 13, Russian invaders shelled Pokrovsk, Donetsk region.

This was reported by the Pokrovsk city military administration.

“As a result of shelling of the territory of Pokrovsk on the night of February 13, about 15 buildings were damaged by fragments of rockets and an explosive wave,” – said the head of the military administration, Serhii Dobryak.

According to the head of the Donetsk regional military administration, Pavel Kyrilenko, at night, the Russians struck Druzhkivka and Pokrovsk, which are relatively far from the front

“In Druzhkivka, a hospital was damaged by a rocket, in Pokrovsk, a kindergarten was also damaged by shelling – no one was injured,” he added.

Houses in Kostyantynivka, Bakhmut, Toretsk, and Siversk were also damaged. Single “arrivals” were also recorded in Avdiivka.

As Kyrylenko said, one person died in the Donetsk region in the past day – in Chasovoy Yar, and one person was injured.

The Russians force residents of the occupied territories to work for meager wages

The occupiers decided to create temporary work for the residents of the occupied territories and explained why they pay much lower wages than for similar work in Russia.

The Russians have announced plans to create socio-economic development programs until 2030 on the territory of the occupied part of the Luhansk region, the so-called “LРR”.

According to these plans, the temporarily captured Ukrainian territories must achieve all indicators in accordance with the all-Russian level.

This was reported by the Luhansk Regional Military Administration.

The occupiers have already begun to involve residents of the occupied Luhansk region in works of a temporary nature. In this way, they decided to help people find a job, but the salary level is far from what residents of the Russian Federation receive for similar work.

According to the occupation authorities, “salaries will be paid so that people do not feel abandoned and can have the means to live.”

There is a lot of temporary work now in the hospitals where the Russians take their wounded soldiers. Now there are so many injured occupiers that neither local medical workers nor those who came from Russia are enough to provide assistance.

The Russians have come up with a new way to solve this problem — they plan to organize nursing training courses for volunteers. Currently, training in nursing is being developed throughout the Russian Federation on the basis of local medical institutions, and further training will also take place in the Luhansk Region.

In schools in the occupied part of Luhansk region, open campaigning for the pro-government party was allowed. They also began to prepare schoolchildren for war and teach them how to control drones.

Due to the lack of doctors in hospitals in the Luhansk region, the invaders plan to recruit “volunteers”

In the so-called “LРR”, volunteers who have completed first aid courses will be brought to the hospitals, since too many wounded occupiers are arriving.

This was reported by the Luhansk Regional Military Administration.

“There are many jobs of a temporary nature in hospitals, where the Russians take the wounded on the front line and after the next “cotton”. There are so many of them that there are no longer enough local doctors or those who came from the Russian Federation. They found a way out in the so-called “LРR” – there they intend to organize training courses in nursing for volunteers,” the message reads.

Currently, nursing education is being developed throughout the Russian Federation on the basis of local medical institutions. Next comes the temporarily occupied Luhansk region.

Moreover, according to the invaders, it is planned to pay such “sisters” so much “so that people do not feel abandoned” and have the means to live.
