On the morning of July 15, the Russian army twice struck civilian port and logistics infrastructure in the Mykolaiv region. Two civilian workers were killed in the Russian attacks, and another man is in serious condition in hospital.
The first strike was carried out by the Russians in the morning, at 06:23. The Russians attacked a critical port infrastructure facility in the Mykolaiv district with two modern Shahed-238 jet drones.
As a result of the hits, two civilian vessels flying the flags of Liberia and the Cayman Islands were damaged, and fires broke out on board.
The most serious injuries were sustained by a 60-year-old employee of one of the vessels. He was taken to hospital with multiple burns in extremely serious condition, but the man could not be saved – he died in a medical facility.
A few hours later, at around 11:10, Russian forces launched a second strike, attacking the warehouses of a private enterprise in the Bashtansky district with Shahed strike drones. The Russian drones targeted the hangars where grain was stored, as well as agricultural machinery.
This shelling claimed the life of another person – a 67-year-old forklift driver died on the spot.
Another employee of the enterprise, a 65-year-old truck driver, was seriously injured and is currently hospitalized.
Under the procedural leadership of the Mykolaiv Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation into the facts of war crimes (Parts 1, 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine) has been launched.
