The Russian strike on the Poltava region caused a chemical leak: the State Emergency Service reported whether there is a threat

In the Poltava region, a leak of a dangerous chemical substance occurred as a result of a Russian attack on a critical infrastructure facility. According to the report of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine, the threat was quickly eliminated. After the Russian strike on the Poltava region, the containers in which the hazardous substance was stored were damaged. Specialists from chemical protection units were immediately involved in the elimination of the consequences.

Rescuers sealed the damaged tanks and leakage points, which prevented the further spread of the hazardous substance. The State Emergency Service emphasized that thanks to quick and professional actions, the threat to the population and the environment was completely eliminated. After completing the emergency work, the rescuers confirmed that the situation is under control, and work at the facility can continue in a safe mode.
