Russians capture Ukrainian soldier and immediately execute him

Russians in Donetsk region executed another Ukrainian soldier after captivity.

On August 6, the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office reported another war crime by the Russians.

The execution of a Ukrainian soldier by the Russians occurred on July 22. Then the Russian Federation attacked the positions of the Armed Forces of Ukraine in the Myrne area, which is in the Volnovakha district.

According to the prosecutor’s office, during the performance of a combat mission, the Russians captured the Ukrainian defender and executed him.

“Under the procedural leadership of the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office, a pre-trial investigation has been initiated in criminal proceedings on the fact of committing a war crime that caused the death of a person (Part 2 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine),” the Donetsk Regional Prosecutor’s Office noted.

They added that urgent investigative (search) actions are currently being carried out aimed at establishing all the circumstances of the incident and the persons from among the Russian servicemen involved in the commission of the specified crime.

The prosecutor’s office also recalled that the killing of prisoners is a gross violation of the Geneva Conventions and qualifies as a grave international crime.

On July 13, in the village of Yalta in the Donetsk region, Russian soldiers captured another Ukrainian serviceman and then shot him.
