Russia has launched a massive strike on Naftogaz assets in the East, West and Central Ukraine

On August 9, the Russian army launched a massive strike on the assets of the Naftogaz group in the East, West and Central Ukraine. Significant damage was caused, and some equipment was put out of service.

Russia continues to launch massive strikes on various enterprises that are part of the Naftogaz group. In particular, on the night of August 9, Ukrnafta’s production assets, as well as the company’s drilling site, were subjected to massive shelling.

According to the company, dozens of strike drones were used against the production infrastructure. As a result of the shelling, significant damage was recorded, and some equipment was put out of service. The asset’s operation was stopped. The employees of the attacked facilities were not injured.

On August 7 and 8, seven gas stations of the Ukrnafta network in Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporizhzhia and Mykolaiv regions were attacked by Russian drones.

As a result of one of the Russian strikes, a gas station employee was injured. He is currently in hospital and receiving all necessary assistance.

On August 8, the Russians attacked Naftogaz production facilities in the central part of the country with jet drones. At the time of the strike, the personnel were in shelter. The attacked facility suffered serious damage.

According to the statement of the acting chairman of the board of Naftogaz, Serhiy Fedorenko, the intensity of attacks on oil and gas infrastructure has increased significantly in recent days, and Russia is trying to cause maximum damage to Ukrainian production and other critical infrastructure in order to make it impossible to prepare for the heating season.

And at about 13:25 near a supermarket in the Korabelny district of the city, a Russian drone attacked two elderly people. A 77-year-old man and woman were taken to the hospital with contusions, explosive and closed head injuries, and shrapnel wounds. Their condition is assessed as moderate.

Recall that the day before, the regional authorities issued an important message to the population regarding the increased risk of Russian strikes near places where cars congregate – near supermarkets, markets, and gas stations. People are asked to avoid open areas, to be especially vigilant at public transport stops, near shops, gas stations, and car parks.
