Shahed attacked a passenger train in the Odesa region: the driver and his assistant died

On August 13, the Russian Federation carried out a targeted strike with a Shahed-type drone on the locomotive of a passenger train in the Odesa region. The attack killed the driver and his assistant.

While the train was moving, the monitoring team recorded the threat of the strike drone and transmitted information about the train stopping. It was just entering the station so that passengers could safely leave the cars.

However, the Russian Shahed jet abruptly changed direction. Due to the high speed of the drone, the locomotive crew had only a few minutes to react.

The driver and his assistant did not have time to completely stop the locomotive and evacuate. They died.

After the strike, 340 passengers and members of the train crew were taken to a safe place. There were no injuries among them.

Onward transportation to Odesa by bus was organized for the passengers.

Ukrzaliznytsia emphasized that the driver and his assistant did their job until the last moment and tried to stop the train to save the passengers.
