Five people were injured in Russian shelling of Donetsk settlements

Five civilians were injured in Russian attacks on settlements in Donetsk region on August 16. Russians attacked Mykolaivka and Rayhorodk with drones, and another woman was injured in Starovarvarivka. The type of weapon used in the attack on this village is being determined.

At around 04:00, Russian troops directed an FPV drone at a private sector in Mykolaivka. Two local residents, aged 28 and 37, were injured in the attack.

One of the men was diagnosed with penetrating and shrapnel wounds, as well as facial bruises. The other suffered a traumatic brain injury and a closed skull fracture.

Three hours later, at around 07:00, a Russian drone attacked Rayhorodk in Kramatorsk district. A 47-year-old woman and a 51-year-old man were injured in a residential building. They were diagnosed with explosive injuries and shrapnel wounds.

Also, on August 16, Starovarvarivka of the Oleksandrivska community was under Russian shelling. A 43-year-old woman was injured there. She received a mine-explosive injury and shrapnel wounds.

Law enforcement officers are currently establishing what type of weapon the Russian troops used to strike Starovarvarivka. Pre-trial investigations have been launched into the attacks under Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – violation of the laws and customs of war.
