
On the night of August 16, Russian troops carried out another attack on Kyiv. The capital was hit by ballistic missiles. A series of explosions rang out in the city.
As a result of the Russian strike, fires and destruction occurred at four locations in the Obolonskyі and Holosiivskyi districts.
In the Obolonskyі district, in particular, a large-scale fire broke out in the territory of the book market near the Pochaina metro station. As a result of the Russian shelling, the capital’s book market was completely burned down. Three ballistic missiles hit the market.
Also at another location, the blast wave caused the destruction of a building without further fire.
A fire was recorded in the Holosiivskyi district in a non-residential building.
Initially, fewer victims were reported, but during the morning the data was revised – the number of injured increased to three.
As of 09:36, all fires caused by the attack had been extinguished. At the same time, rescuers continued to dismantle rubble and pour structures to finally eliminate the consequences of the fire.
The scale of damage and final information about the consequences of the attack are being clarified.
Cars were also damaged and burned as a result of the night attack in Kyiv. The publication confirms information about three victims in the capital.
