
On August 17, Russian troops attacked settlements in Kherson region with artillery and drones of various types. Two civilians were killed and nine more people were injured as a result of the shelling.
According to the investigation by the Kherson Regional Prosecutor’s Office, at about 05:30, Russian troops attacked the village of Novokairi with a drone. The injuries sustained by two men aged 67 and 58 were incompatible with life.
Nine more people were injured as a result of Russian drone attacks on Kherson, Belozerka, Novovorontsovka and Gavrylivka. Two police officers were among the injured.
Private and apartment buildings, enterprise territories, garages, service vehicles and passenger cars were also damaged as a result of the shelling.
In Kherson on August 17, an outbuilding and a car on the territory of a medical facility caught fire after being hit by a Russian FPV drone. Despite the threat of repeated strikes, rescuers extinguished the fire. The Kherson regional prosecutor’s office has launched a pre-trial investigation into war crimes under parts 1 and 2 of Article 38 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine.
