
The Russians struck the Chernihiv region and several villages – there is an injury and several fires.
As a result of the Russian attack with a banderol and strike drones on the Chernihiv region on August 18, a civilian was injured, and large-scale fires broke out in several communities of the region. Chernihiv, Mena, and the villages of Snovsk and Gorodnyan communities were affected. Firefighters spent hours extinguishing fires at several facilities simultaneously.
According to the Chernihiv regional military administration, a 38-year-old civilian was injured in a “banderol” attack on Chernihiv on August 18 – he is being treated as an outpatient.
In the evening of the same day, the Russians attacked Mena in the Koryukiv district with “geraniums”. As a result of the attack, a two-story house was damaged, and a fire broke out at the site of the hit. Firefighters extinguished the fire for about an hour.
In the villages of the Snovsk community, “gerber” flights were recorded. In one of the settlements, 22 tons of roughage caught fire, in another, an agricultural enterprise was hit – equipment and a warehouse building caught fire there. In the village of the Gorodnyanska community, a grocery store caught fire due to a drone strike.
The attack was another confirmation that the Russians continue to systematically strike with strike drones at the civilian and economic infrastructure of the border areas of the Chernihiv region. Residential buildings, shops, agricultural enterprises and farms – objects without any military significance – are under attack.
During the past week, August 9-15, the defense forces shot down 111 Russian strike drones over the Chernihiv region, another 50 were lost or suppressed by electronic warfare means.
