In Sumy region, two people were blown up by explosives, six more were injured due to shelling

On August 22, Russian troops carried out almost 70 shellings on 15 territorial communities of Sumy region. As a result of the detonation of explosives and Russian strikes, two people were killed, and six more people were injured.

According to the report of the head of the Sumy regional military administration, Oleg Grigorov, two people died in the Seredino-Bud community due to the detonation of explosive objects.

Initially, a 61-year-old man, riding a bicycle, ran over an explosive and died from his injuries on the spot. Later, in the same community, as a result of the explosion of an unknown object, a 50-year-old woman was fatally injured, and a 71-year-old woman who was nearby was injured.

The head of the region once again emphasized the high danger of being in the border areas and urged local residents not to delay evacuation.

In addition to the mine explosions, five more civilians were injured due to Russian shelling in the region: In Seredino-Budsk community, a 52-year-old woman and a 24-year-old man were injured due to mortar shelling; In Krasnopil community, a 51-year-old man was injured when a Russian UAV hit his car; In Esmansk community, a 60-year-old man was injured due to a drone strike on a residential building; In Shostka community, a 73-year-old man was injured due to an airstrike.

The largest number of shellings using mortars, artillery, FPV drones and guided aerial bombs were recorded in Sumy, Shostka and Konotop districts.

The hits caused destruction and damage to private and apartment buildings, civil infrastructure, non-residential premises, outbuildings, cars and buses.
