Russia has announced the development of another textbook for the “re-education” of Ukrainian children – this time for territories that they do not control.
The scientific director of the “Russian Military Historical Society” Mikhail Myagkov announced the development of a textbook on the history of Ukraine intended for schoolchildren in the territories controlled by Kiev. According to him, the publication will contain Kremlin fabrications about the “unity of peoples” and “Ukrainian neo-Nazism”.
This initiative is another propaganda project of the Russian Federation, which has nothing to do with historical science. Such “textbooks” completely deny Ukrainian subjectivity and justify Russia’s armed aggression.
At the same time, it is worth considering that Russia does not have real mechanisms for delivering these books to the territory controlled by the Ukrainian government.
The statement of the head of the Russian historical and propaganda organization is primarily aimed at the internal audience and is intended to create the appearance of “active ideological work” within Russia itself. It is also important that by announcing such a “textbook” Russia demonstrates that it does not want to end the war and does not seek peace, but dreams of further occupation of Ukrainian territories.
